First role with HQ - Receptionist, Chicago, USA
Maria’s career with HQ began in 1983 when she joined the OmniOffices team in Chicago as a receptionist. In nursing school at Loyola University at the time, she had intended this to be a temporary summertime position. However, at the end of that summer, Maria had come to admire the company and the business atmosphere there, so she decided to stay at OmniOffices, working part-time between classes and clinical studies. She performed many roles, including switchboard operator, administrative assistant and assistant to the manager. She even played the role of "Office Boy", better known today as CSA-Facilities.
Her love for the company led Maria to change her major from Nursing to Communications – and within three years of joining the company she became Assistant General Manager in 1986. She was then promoted to General Manager in 1991 and opened a brand new center in Oak Brook, IL. When OmniOffices and HQ merged in 1998 she was promoted to District Manager. Then in 2000 she was named Area Vice President during the merger of HQ and Vantas, overseeing sales and operations of centers throughout the Chicago region. Two years later she was appointed Area Vice President-Service for the Midwest region.
Maria is now leaving Chicago and relocating with her family to Boston, having been assigned as Area Director handling sales and operations for 14 centers in the metro area. Her career at HQ has spanned everything from entry-level support to where she is today, with in-depth experience in sales, operations, P&L management, opening new centers and relocating existing ones. She and her family look forward to becoming "true Bostonians", and she is eager to bring her experience to a new relationship with the Boston team.
